The Bloomfield School District is looking for dependable, friendly Substitute Food Service Helpers to join our school nutrition team on an on-call, as-needed basis. In this role, you will help prepare and serve nutritious meals to students in a welcoming environment. What you’ll be doing:

• Helping prepare and serve breakfast and lunch to the students.

• Keeping the kitchen and cafeteria clean, safe, and organized.

• Washing dishes and helping with the post-lunch cleanup.

• Being a positive, welcoming face for the students as they come through the lunch line.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation, portioning, and serving of school meals (breakfast and lunch).

• Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen and dining area in compliance with health regulations.

• Operate kitchen equipment safely and assist with dishwashing and cleanup.

• Provide excellent customer service to students, staff, and visitors.

Bloomfield Schools is seeking reliable and conscientious daily substitute teachers for both the elementary and secondary schools. Responsibilities include, implementing daily lesson plans; developing a rapport with students that fosters academic engagement and appropriate behavior.  Prior teaching experience is not required.

 

The Substitute Cleaner maintains a clean, safe, and healthy environment for students, staff, and visitors during the absence of regular custodial personnel. This position requires a high degree of self-motivation and accountability, as the individual must be able to perform standard cleaning duties efficiently with minimum supervision. 

• Requires continuous physical activity: standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, and climbing stairs.

• Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs (e.g., trash bags, mop buckets)

The Substitute Clerical Assistant provides essential administrative and secretarial support in the school’s main office during the absence of regular staff. This role is vital in maintaining a welcoming, organized, and efficient environment. The ideal candidate must maintain absolute confidentiality and professionalism at all times, is adaptable, security-minded, and able to transition smoothly between elementary and middle/high school settings.
