The Elementary School Typist provides clerical and administrative support to ensure the efficient operation of the school office. This position serves as the first point of contact for parents, visitors, students, and staff, maintaining a welcoming and professional environment while supporting the daily needs of the school administration.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Greet parents, students, staff, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
Serve as the primary receptionist for the school office.
Answer and direct telephone calls; take and relay accurate messages.
Provide clerical support to the principal and administrative staff.
Assist teachers and staff with clerical and operational needs.
Prepare, type, proofread, and distribute correspondence, reports, forms, and other documents.
Maintain student records and confidential files in accordance with district policies.
Process incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries.
Assist with scheduling appointments and maintaining calendars.
Operate standard office equipment including computers, copiers, printers, and fax machines.
Support school events and activities as needed.
Maintain confidentiality of student and personnel information.
Perform other duties as assigned by the principal or designee.
