The Bloomfield Central School District is seeking a dynamic English Teacher who can foster creativity and a love of literature and writing in our students. The successful candidate should be ready to use skills and techniques of literary analysis and written expression consistent with best practices in English education.

Responsible for teaching groups of students with a range of needs, gifts, and talents.

Develop, monitor, and adjust instruction to promote the growth of our students, which includes their intellectual, emotional, social, and physical well-being.

Instruct students in the proper use of instructional technology, research databases, and writing resources.

Organize classroom materials and control the use of texts, independent reading libraries, and digital tools to prevent loss or abuse, and to minimize time required for distribution and collection.

Evaluate each student’s performance and growth in knowledge, critical thinking, and literacy understandings, and prepare progress reports.

Plan and present student writing showcases or literary exhibitions designed to exhibit students’ work for the school and the community.

Participate actively in grade-level, departmental, and Professional Learning Community to align curriculum and share best practices.

Maintain open, professional lines of communication with parents, guardians, and school support staff (counselors, co-teachers, administrators) regarding student progress.

Engage in continuous professional development, faculty meetings, and school-wide initiatives.

Perform any other duties as may be assigned by Administration.
